‘99 percent people above 45 years have taken first dose, 21 percent have received second jab’

Srinagar, July 16 (KNO): After missing two deadlines, Jammu and Kashmir administration is set to complete the first dose vaccination of all above 45 years of age in coming few days. As per the data available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), 99 percent of the people above 45 years age have been given first jab while as so far 21 percent people have taken second jab. Figures available with the KNO suggest that 12 districts in J&K which includes Jammu, Samba,Rajouri, Poonch Shopian, Kulgam, Anantnag, Pulwama, Baramulla, Bandipora, Budgam and Ganderbal have already completed 100 percent mark, however, other districts are also near completion. Pertinently, LG Manoj Sinha on May 16 had set 10 days deadline to vaccinate all above 45 years of age , however, this deadline was missed by long margin and later June end was set as another deadline, but that too was missed. In Kishtwar among 53,041 persons above 45 years of age, 96 percent have received first jab while as 21 percent have received second jab, in Srinagar 88 percent have received first jab while as 12 percent have received second jab. “In Doda 88 percent have received first jab and 20 percent have received second jab, in Udhampur 88 percent received first jab and 24 percent received second jab, in Kulgam 100 percent received first jab while as 17 percent received second jab, in Shopian 100 percent received first jab while as 29 percent received second jab, in Kuthua 94 percent received first jab and 23 percent received second jab and in Bandipora 100 percent received first jab while as 18 percent received second jab,” the figures reveal. The data further states that in Anantnag, 100 percent people above 45 have received first jab while as 18 percent have received second jab, in Ramban 93 percent have received first jab while as 30 percent have received second jab, in Baramulla 100 percent have received first jab while as 20 percent have received second jab, in Samba 100 percent people have received first jab while as 32 percent people have received second jab, in Rajouri 100 percent people have received first jab while as 18 percent people have received second jab, in Kupwara 74 percent people above 45 have received first jab and 09 percent people have received second jab, in Poonch 100 percent have received first jab while as 13 percent have received second jab and in Reasi 89 percent and 15 percent people above 45 have received first and second jabs respectively. “In Pulwama, 100 percent and 18 percent , in Ganderbal 100 percent and 29 percent, in Budgam 100 percent and 20 percent and in Jammu 100 percent and 39 percent people above 45 years of age have received first and second jabs of Covid vaccine respectively,” the figures state—(KNO) . In total, of 2,994,659 persons above 45 of age 2,986,715 (99 percent) people have received the first jab while as 635,323 (21 percent) have received the second jab. 12 districts which have given first dose to their whole 100 percent population of all above 45 years of age have also given first doses to the people of some other districts as well—(KNO)
